How to change Admin Contact for
.my and .com.my Domain Name
This article only applies to .my domain name, Malaysia's top level domain name administered by MYNIC.
From time to time, we encounter cases where clients are no longer able to access their domain control panel. This is often because the Admin Contact for the domain name has left the company. The Admin Contact is the person in charge of the domain name as registered in MYNIC's database.
Should this apply to you, you can issue a letter requesting MYNIC to update the Administrative Contact for your domain name.
The new Administrative Contact you propose must be an authorized employee of the Registrant organisation/company who able to speak and contract on behalf of the Registrant.
In the letter, be sure to provide at least 3 choices of User ID for MYNIC. UserID should contain 5-10 alphanumeric characters. Password should contain 5-10 alphanumeric characters and may include symbols or special characters.
The letter must be issued under your company's official letterhead and signed by an officer who is in authority (eg Managing Director, Director, General Manager, Head of Department).
Download a copy of the template letter here (PDF version or MS Word version), complete the relevant details and fax to MYNIC Customer Service at +603-8991 7277.
